24 things I drew this month - Thing One

Ok, this blog needs a bit of a kick to get it moving again, so just for a month I'm going to turn it into a sketchbook-blog. Every day from today until Christmas Eve, I'm going to post something I've drawn that day. Like a sort of horrible advent calendar, only instead of charming pictures of robins and snowmen; dodgily shaded pictures of grumpy old men. Speaking of which...

It's of a man I sat opposite on the tube. I call it 'Man I Sat Opposite On The Tube'.

It's Mr. Birling!

Awesome.

Totally a man who would fly with MJN air. :)

@Daedalus, you beat me to it, Mr. Birling was my first thought as well.

You never fail to amaze with your talent. I expect you'll be taking astronaut training next, for a trip to the space station to help solve some quantum physics problem.

Looking at it side by side with the profile picture it rather looks like a self-portrait at age of about 72.

Sorry, didn't mean to be, well, mean. It's a very well drawn portrait. I just thought it has a resemblance to the profile picture.

Your drawings are so expressive. I am very excited for this!

(Probably the only time I'll ever be this excited about an advent calendar sans chocolate.)

Eee, John! That's wonderful. Like one of the grumpy old men from the Muppet Show (my favourite characters).

*cough*Cabin Pressure characters!*cough*

Yay!! :D I love art blogs! And this is so much better than the usual advent calendars...although in keeping with tradition I may have to break a few of your windows and pilfer chocolate from you anyway.

Haha! To my mind, this why you're such a good writer -- you really observe everything going on around you!

Looking forward to more!

Hm... Sir, I thought you are Arthur, NOT Douglas (who can't imagine a thing, that he can't do)

Seriously, I'm impressed!

At first I thought, "Wow, the guy has a really big head and angular jaw" but then I realised that it's his un-outlined shirt collar...
